Health Guarantee Information – Cute German Shepherd
Before bringing home your German Shepherd puppy, it’s essential to discuss the health guarantee with the breeder. At Cute German Shepherd, we encourage all buyers to ask for a written health guarantee to ensure their new puppy is happy and healthy.
Veterinary Check & Health Guarantee
We strongly recommend taking your new puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of purchase for a thorough health examination. Be sure to bring along any health records and paperwork provided by the breeder.
Most reputable breeders will offer a health guarantee that covers:
✔️ A Clean Bill of Health – Puppies should be free from major illnesses or congenital defects at the time of sale.
✔️ Vaccinations & Deworming – Breeders typically ensure that puppies are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming treatments.
✔️ Genetic Health Conditions – Some breeders test for common hereditary health issues in German Shepherds, such as hip dysplasia and degenerative myelopathy (DM).
✔️ Return or Exchange Policy – If a serious health issue is diagnosed within a specific time frame, breeders may offer a replacement puppy or refund policy (varies by breeder).
Health Guarantee Laws & Buyer Protection
🐾 State Regulations – Some states do not require breeders to offer a health guarantee, but responsible breeders voluntarily provide them for buyer confidence.
🐾 Know Your Rights – It’s important to review the contract and health guarantee terms before making a purchase.
🐾 Ask Questions – A trustworthy breeder will always be open to discussing their health policies and vet records.
What Should You Do?
1️⃣ Talk to the Breeder – Ask about their health guarantee and get it in writing.
2️⃣ Get a Vet Check-Up – Schedule a vet visit within 10 days of bringing your puppy home.
3️⃣ Review the Paperwork – Keep copies of the health records, vaccinations, and contract.
4️⃣ Report Any Concerns – If your puppy shows signs of illness, contact the breeder and your veterinarian immediately.

Keep in mind that these health guarantees are at the breeder’s discretion, so they will vary. Typically, reputable breeders will offer health guarantees for anywhere from 72 hours, 30 days, 6 months, or 1 year.
